Railway siding and the Łódź Kaliska WUT
Preparation of complete multi-discipline design documentation for the investment project entitled "Construction of a Railway Siding in Łódź Kaliska along with a Rolling Stock Maintenance Facility (WUT)"
The subject of the project is the preparation of complete multi-discipline design documentation along with the performance of author's supervision for the investment project entitled "Construction of a Railway Siding in Łódź Kaliska along with a Rolling Stock Maintenance Facility (WUT)".
The objective of the undertaking is to create a modern technical facility for PKP Intercity enabling the maintenance, inspection, and running repairs of railway rolling stock, including conventional passenger coaches, electric multiple units, and electric locomotives. The investment covers the reconstruction of existing railway infrastructure and the construction of a new railway siding at the Łódź Kaliska station, complete with a full track layout, turnouts, stabling and shunting tracks, and a modern rolling stock maintenance facility.
A key element of the project is the construction of the Rolling Stock Maintenance Facility hall equipped with three inspection and repair tracks, inspection pits, an overhead traveling crane, working platforms, and a full suite of technological installations enabling P1-P3 maintenance inspections to be carried out.
The investment also provides for the construction of technological roads, manoeuvring yards, paved inter-track areas, parking lots, and complete administrative and social facilities for approximately 260 employees.
The scope of the project includes the comprehensive reconstruction of the catenary system, railway traffic control (SRK) devices, electric switch heating (EOR), telecommunication systems, CCTV monitoring, Wi-Fi networks, and modern power supply and automation systems. The project also provides for the execution of all necessary technological installations, including coach watering, waste evacuation, compressed air, sanitary and storm sewerage systems, drainage, and power supply infrastructure.
An essential assumption of the investment is the application of energy-efficient solutions, including photovoltaic installations, heat pumps, energy consumption monitoring systems, and technologies that reduce operating costs and CO₂ emissions.
As the Contractor, we are responsible for preparing complete design documentation, including the Program and Spatial Concept, construction and execution designs, geological, geotechnical, and environmental documentation, cost estimates, technical specifications, and tender materials.
The Contractor's responsibilities also include obtaining all required administrative decisions, building permits, industry approvals, as well as environmental and water permits necessary for the implementation of the investment. The project also covers the preparation of documentation for railway system safety, traffic organization, and risk analyses in accordance with interoperability requirements and applicable railway regulations.
Upon completion of the design stage, we will provide author's supervision during the execution of construction works, ensuring that the implementation of the investment complies with the prepared documentation.
The effect of the undertaking will be the creation of one of the most modern technical facilities for PKP Intercity, increasing rolling stock maintenance capabilities, improving the operational reliability of trains, and preparing the infrastructure to service modern railway vehicles.
