Railway connector in Kostrzyn nad Odrą
Preparation of design documentation and provision of design supervision as part of the project entitled: "Construction of a railway connector in Kostrzyn nad Odrą (between lines 203 and 273)"
The project involves the preparation of complete design documentation along with obtaining all necessary administrative decisions and exercising author's supervision for the investment entitled "Construction of a rail link in Kostrzyn nad Odrą (between railway lines No. 203 and 273)".
The main objective of the undertaking is to create a new rail connection between railway line No. 203 (Tczew - Kostrzyn) and railway line No. 273 (Wroclaw - Szczecin), which will enable train operations without the need for a change of running direction at Kostrzyn nad Odrą station. A key element of the investment is the construction of a new, electrified connector No. 3 and, under an option right, connector No. 4, which will significantly improve the functionality of one of the most important railway nodes in western Poland. The project also includes the reconstruction of the track layout at Kostrzyn station, the extension of track No. 4r, the modernization of turnouts, and the adjustment of track geometry to operating speeds of up to 120 km/h.
An essential element of the undertaking is the construction of a new passenger stop, Kostrzyn Północny, and optionally also the Kostrzyn Zachodni stop, complete with full passenger infrastructure, parking facilities, passenger information systems, CCTV monitoring, and amenities for persons with reduced mobility.
At Kostrzyn station, it is also planned to extend platform No. 5 to a length of at least 300 m, raise it to a height of 76 cm, and construct elevators ensuring access from the existing footbridge. The scope of the project also includes the construction of new engineering structures, the reconstruction of road-rail crossings, the analysis of the construction of two-level grade separations, the modernization of railway traffic control devices, the construction of a new Local Control Centre (LCC), the modernization of telecommunication and power supply systems, and the electrification of new connectors.
The documentation is to be prepared in accordance with the BIM methodology and railway interoperability requirements, taking into account the deployment of ERTMS/ETCS systems as well as modern passenger information and monitoring systems.
As the Contractor, we will also be responsible for the preparation of complete design documentation, geotechnical and environmental surveys, traffic analyses, tender materials, and obtaining environmental, site location, and building permits. The project also provides for an analysis of road layout reconstruction variants in the area of national roads No. 31 and No. 22, as well as coordination with the construction of the Kostrzyn nad Odrą bypass.
The effect of the investment will be an increase in the capacity and flexibility of the railway system, improved punctuality of passenger and freight transport, shorter travel times, and the establishment of new direct connections, including Poznań - Gorzów Wielkopolski - Kostrzyn - Szczecin and Gorzów Wielkopolski - Zielona Góra, without the need for a change of running direction. As a result, the railway node in Kostrzyn will become one of the most important hubs integrating regional, long-distance, and freight traffic in western Poland and in international relations with Germany.
